NATIONALLY

"I have often said it would be a thing very desirable, and very likely to be followed with a great blessing, if there could be some contrivance, that there should be an agreement of all God's people in America. . . to keep a Day of Fasting and Prayer to God; wherein, we should all unite on the same day. . . It seems to me, it would mightily encourage and animate God's saints, in humbly and earnestly seeking God, for such blessings which concerns them all; and that it would be much for the rejoicing of all, to think, that at the same time such multitudes of God's dear children, far and near, were sending up their cries to the same common Father for the same motives."

                                                   - Jonathan Edwards, 1742

  • FIRST FRIDAY PRAYER CALL
Americans are encouraged to make Friday--especially the first Friday of the month--a day of special emphasis on revival in the church. This emphasis is our modern expression of a National Prayer Accord.
A day of fasting and prayer each month for revival and for those in authority (1 Tim. 2:1).

  • 21 Days for a New Awakening
Imagine what would happen in America if millions of believers united together in denying their flesh, pushing back their plates, and crying out to God for mercy?

21 Days for a New Awakening is a simple, sincere call for leaders, churches, and believers across America to begin 2008 in a season of radical fasting, intercession and repentance. From January 1-21, join with thousands of other believers and numerous denominations and ministries across our nation as we seek God for a Christ awakening in our day.

This call to begin 2008 with a corporate national fast is the first in a series of united activities designed to assist the American church in pursuing spiritual awakening.

  •  CRY OUT AMERICA
    A PATRIOT DAY PRAYER GATHERING

On September 11, 2008 our nation will pause to remember the greatest “wake-up” call in our generation, the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01.  As part of Awakening America, a call is being issued for Christians across the nation to mark this significant day in our history with powerful prayer for America and the lost individuals of this country.

In every one of the 3141 counties in the United States, during the noon lunch hour on September 11, Christians will unite around their county courthouse to cry out to God with focused prayer for their community, their lost friends and family, and for the spiritual condition of our nation.

Stay tuned for information on how you can personally participate in this historic prayer movement.

 A partial focus for

Intercessors for America partners-in-prayer:

  • Let us humble ourselves, confess and repent of personal and national sin, and offer thanksgiving for the mercy and protection the Lord continues to show to our leaders and nation.  Pray for national security and for serving "all in harm's way."
  • Pray for national repentance, revelation of Christ, spiritual renewal and reconciliation throughout the whole of America, including Native American nations and jurisdictions, our inhabited U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia.
  • Pray that God will position our nation for His blessing and as an influence to impact the world for the salvation of multitudes, for righteousness and for justice.
  • Pray for God's biblical purposes to be fulfilled during this final term of President Bush's presidency and in the second session of the 110th Congress.
  • Pray for our nation's alignment with God's kingdom purposes in the election process of our next president and national, state, and local leaders.
