Most of the time the e-blast finds me addressing some situation that has happened in the culture or challenging us to think about some aspect of our faith. This morning my heart is in a different place. I want to use this morning's e-mail blast to tell you all how much I appreciate you. We are in the midst of an incredibly busy week at Mtn. View. Last night we had a Church Council meeting. Some of the folks serving on the council are in the midst of tough circumstances but they are serving our Lord. Tonight is an elder meeting. These men work hard during the day and are willing to shoulder the spiritual responsibility of our souls by meeting together to pray and plan. Their wives are serving every bit as much by supporting their mens' service. On Friday we will have a memorial service for Dale Vrabec and many of you have helped with preparations. We've had a great response to our appeal for help as we hand out hot dogs at Halloween. We have folks regularly using their gifts of teaching and administration, folks helping teach kids and watching babies. folks who can turn a wrench and paint a hallway. We have folks who have technological skills and people who can bake goodies and they both serve a purpose in moving the congregation forward. And don't let me forget to preach to the choir.....thank you for singing.
I'm very conscious today of so many who do so much. Please know I don't take you nor the ministries you do for granted. II Cor. 12:20 says there are many parts/members but one body. The part you play makes a difference for the Kingdom of God. The Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the Philippians and he began the letter by telling the Philippians that he "Thanked God.....for their participation in the gospel from the first day until now." Please know that is my heart towards each of you today.
