Broken Crayons Still Color
I recently saw this saying on the web, "Broken Crayons Still Color..." As I contemplated the saying I thought about how many imperfect people God has used to further his plans; Moses the murderer, Gideon the scaredy-cat, David the adulterer, Peter the bragger, James and John the temper tantrums, Paul the persecuter...................and me..........and you.
In I Timothy 1:16 Paul writes, "Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life." I think that verse tells us that Paul was always conscious of the fact that God used him in spite of his history. There were events and episodes that he could not go back and fix. Yet God could use a broken crayon to color.
One of the great lies that the enemy speaks to us is that our history determines our destiny. I use the word destiny cautiously because it is so overused in some Christian circles. But today may all of us be encouraged to know that God colors with broken crayons and he can do so because he is a master artist.
